Daylight saving time is handled for you
Many regions shift their clocks for part of the year, and the changeover dates differ between countries. This converter uses each region's real DST rules, so a conversion in July and the same conversion in January correctly reflect whether daylight saving is in effect.
Abbreviations vs. real zones
Abbreviations like EST or CET can be ambiguous, because the same letters are used in different parts of the world and only apply during part of the year. Frequently asked questions
Does this account for daylight saving time automatically?
Yes. It uses each region's real daylight saving rules via the IANA time zone database, so conversions are correct whether or not DST is in effect on the date you choose.
Why do the US/Canada and UK/Europe switch to daylight saving on different dates?
They follow different rules. The US and Canada usually shift in early-to-mid March and early November, while the UK and EU shift in late March and late October — so for a few weeks each year the usual offset between them changes.
Does Australia observe daylight saving time?
Only some states do. New South Wales and Victoria observe it, while Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory do not. Australia's DST also runs on the opposite cycle to the Northern Hemisphere, since its seasons are reversed.
What is the time difference between New York and London?

Does New Zealand's time zone change during the year?
